Bio

Kate Reinhalter Bazinsky has spent over two decades working in health policy and advocacy at the federal, state, and local levels. When her son was diagnosed with severe hemophilia A, she became a passionate advocate for the bleeding disorders community. She co-founded and now serves as the Chair of the Bleeding Disorders Substance Use & Mental Health Access Coalition (BD SUMHAC). BD SUMHAC is a national, multi-stakeholder coalition committed to ensuring equitable access to appropriate substance use and mental health treatment facilities for all individuals with bleeding disorders, with a focus on inpatient and residential facilities.

She began her career working as then Congressman and now, Senator Ed Markey’s Health Legislative Assistant in Washington, DC. After leaving the political world, Kate became a Senior Consultant at Bailit Health, a boutique healthcare consulting firm, focused on improving quality and equity while reducing cost in healthcare. She is currently a Parent Advisor for the Harvard-wide Pediatric Health Services Research Fellowship, and previously served on the Board of the New England Hemophilia Association and as a member of Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) Family Advisory Council.

Kate has a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, graduated summa cum laude from Bates College and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She lives in Wellesley, MA with her husband and two children.
